about me

hi, i'm amy zhou! i'm an engineer and designer who loves turning ideas into real things.

currently, i'm building taiyaki, where we turn text and images into actual physical products that show up at your door. before this, i started mobius, a company focused on making materials trading and recycling better.

i studied product design and mechanical engineering at stanford university (with a minor in music! 🎶). i've also worked at apple, helping create products that are useful and better for the environment.

i live in san francisco and spend my time working on creative projects and exploring the city. i love meeting new people and having good conversations.

what i love

making stuff: crocheting, painting, jewelry, polymer clay, or turning old materials into something new.

music: playing clarinet or listening to elvis presley.

city adventures: walking or biking around sf, shopping, and drawing weird things i see.

food: grabbing free samples at events, making random meals from leftovers (sometimes they're good, sometimes not), and drinking red bull in the sunshine.

random fun: wearing dresses that make me feel good, skateboarding on smooth paths, car rides, and making way too elaborate presentations.

free stuff: i'm really good at finding freebies and turning old things into something useful.

staying busy: i love multitasking and figuring out how to use tools like ai to make work easier and more fun.
